To hire a professional consultant to conduct a general survey of the collections, assess our storage environment, policies and procedures, and develop a disaster plan.
Library Enhancement Grant (IMLS) 2016-19
for funding books, multimedia resources, supplies, equipment, and summer programming. It also supports the role of a Summer Programming Assistant under the Director of Library Services. Additionally, it provides funding for ATALM.
Native American Library Services Basic Grant (IMLS) 2018-19, 2020-21
To support Native American tribes in enhancing core library services for their communities. The program focuses on improving access to educational resources, workforce development, economic growth, health information, critical thinking skills, digital literacy, and financial literacy. It also provides opportunities for training and professional development for the library workforce and leadership.

Cultural Preservation – The Red Lake Tribal Archives Inventory (AICF) – 2021-22
To cover the costs of Archives staff hours for inventory and cataloging. It also includes supplies like acrylic for labeling the objects, as well as a camera for inventory purposes in the archives.
Coronavirus Aid and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) Tribal College Libraries (MDE) – 2020-21
To provide students and patrons with essential resources for remote and onsite collaboration. This includes all-in-one self-scanning, copying, and faxing devices, as well as expanded digital offerings of journals and books. The socially-distanced scan/copy/fax machines allow for easy access to personal, archive, and reserved materials, reducing the need for multiple onsite visits.

Hotspots for Regional Libraries (MDE) 2020-21
To provide students with easy access to the internet through WiFi hotspot devices. Additionally, it includes 8 Oculus Quest virtual reality headsets that can connect to the internet via the WiFi hotspots. This expanded technology allows students to participate in collaborative classroom settings and continue their language lessons with the same instructor and peers. They can engage in discussions about grammar, meaning, and pronunciation as if they were in a physical classroom.
Red Lake Historical and Cultural Resources for the Medweganoonind Library (Beltrami Electric Operation Round-up) – 2020-21
To acquire resources relating to Red Lake history and other native traditions of this region for the Medwegaanoonind library.
