TCUP STEM Faculty Support to Address Impacts from COVID-19 on Red Lake Nation College – Mathematics and Technology Faculty – Math/Tech 2022-2024

The purpose of this project is to reduce COVID-19 pandemic-related negative impacts on Red Lake Nation College (RLNC) STEM instructional and programming capacity by supporting the salary and professional development of one full-time STEM faculty member teaching mathematics and technology.

A Vision of Our Own: Developing a Red Lake Nation College Vision and Strategic Plan for Increased STEM Capacity and Student Success (NSF – TCUP Pre-TI) – 2020-21

This grant project aims to assess needs, capacity, and opportunities in our region to develop our own STEM vision, goals, and strategic plan. It involves gathering information, exploring collaborations, and analyzing data to create an RLNC STEM roadmap.

Red Lake Nation College National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) 2019

To boost STEM skills, focusing on applied math, data analysis, and critical thinking. It also aims to increase student awareness of transportation careers and safety, motivating them to pursue post-secondary education. Additionally, it aims to enhance students’ understanding of how transportation impacts our lives at different levels.

Field Guides (Beltrami Electric Operation Round-up) – 2020

To provide valuable resources to the environmental science and biology classes at RLNC. The field guides by Stan Tekiela on trees, wildflowers, birds, mammals, and reptiles & amphibians will be incredibly useful for students to explore and learn about the diverse wildlife in Minnesota.

Plastic Bottles and Birch Bark Baskets: Recycling Across the Curriculum (AICF – SEEDS) – 2019-20

To support campus and reservation-wide recycling programs, allowing faculty and students to dedicate more time and effort to this important cause. It also aims to foster learning about traditional baskets, ensuring the knowledge and practice continues for the Red Lake Nation.
