To improve enrollment practices, student support, and strategic enrollment management to increase retention, persistence, and graduation rates for Native students. It also focuses on developing and implementing effective enrollment strategies.

Oshki Manidoo Emergency Aid Program 2023-25

To eliminate financial obstacles for students at Red Lake Nation College. Additionally, also to support the Red Lake Campus and Minneapolis Site Student Pantry by providing food and hygiene products throughout the semester at both locations.

Project Success Internships (ATD) 2023-25

to provide valuable learning opportunities for current RLNC students. It offers internship opportunities where students can gain new experiences and enhance their skills.

Project Success Emergency AID (ATD) 2023-25

to support RLNC students who may face unexpected emergencies during the semester. It provides funding for basic living necessities and helps remove barriers that could prevent them from attending class or potentially lead to dropping out.

Holistic Student Support (Achieving the Dream ATD) – 2022-2025

To improve our recruitment, admissions, and student support services by creating well-designed processes and improving communication.

AICF Preview Day and Transfer Event 2022

To expand transfer opportunities, support students with resources for in-person and virtual campus visits, and provide guidance for future career decisions. RLNC to host quality events to showcase our programs, and students can learn about admissions.

Oshki Manidoo Emergency Aid Program and Student Pantry

The Oshki Manidoo Emergency Aid Program started in the fall of 2018 to support students who are experiencing financial emergencies as well as food and housing insecurity. Components include fast tracked emergency aid, gas cards, transit cards, and the RLNC Student Pantry.

The Oshki Manidoo Emergency Aid Program has 2 main funding sources:

Ascendium Project Success (through Achieving the Dream) 2017-19, 2020-22

Covers fast tracked emergency aid to students for housing and transportation expenses. The first grant helped establish the Oshki Manidoo Emergency Aid Program.

Emergency Aid for Postsecondary Students (EAPS) (MN OHE)- 2018-19, 2019-21, 2021-23

Covers fast tracked emergency aid to students for housing and transportation expenses as well as gas cards and transit passes.

EAPS funding has also established and supported the RLNC Student Pantry since January 2019. With supplemental EAPS funding in 2021, the Student Pantry began stocking walleye, wild rice, and other culturally relevant foods.

Covid Aid for Student Success (CASS) (AICF) – 2021

Support for first year student enrollment and student persistence, with a focus on attendance, GPA, and activity completion.

Covid-19 Transformative Responses Aid to Support Student Admission and Persistence (AICF) – 2020-21

Supported enrollment management planning, distance learning planning, enhanced recruitment efforts, student support services, and professional development for Student Success staff during the difficult times of COVID-19 and into the future. It helped foster increased semester completion rates for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.
